Oberon ordered that he should bring him the floer hich let a man or a oman fall in love ith the next person he or she sa.hile Puck as looking for the floer, Demetrius and Helena passed the ood near Oberon. On their ay to Hermia and Lysander, Demetrius told Helena that he didnt love her. Oberon could see and hear that. hen Puck came ith the floer, the king put a trifle into the queens eyes and because he as sad about Helena, he told Puck to put the same into Demetriuss eyes. As Puck folloed the advice of his king, he also sa orkmen in the ood. As suddenly one of these man ent directly to Pucks hiding-place, Puck changed the mans Bottoms head into a donkeys head. hen Bottom returned to the others, they ran aay, but he could understand them and so he started to sing. Because of the singing Titania oke up and the magic floer-poer began to ork. She fell in love ith the donkey-Bottom.At the same time Puck put the floer into Lysanders eyes because he thought that it as Demetrius. Later Helena found Lysander hile he as still sleeping and she oke him up. As a result, he loved Helena, but he didnt love Hermia any more.Hermia looked for Lysander but she found Demetrius. Then she ent on and he fell asleep. The king and Puck sa them and then the king, Oberon, ordered Puck to do it right then. So he put the floer into Demetriuseyes too, ho sa Helena no first. Later the four men met and they began to quarrel.The king told Puck to put the floer in all of their eyes after the fight, hen they had fallen asleep, to correct all mistakes. Then everything ould be alright again.After this little adventure Oberon ent to his queen and took aay the poer of the floer. hen she oke up later, she thought that everything had been a dream. She loved Oberon again.In the end Lysander loved Hermia, Demetrius loved Helena and Theseus loved Hippolyta. All three couples married later. Bottom got back his original head, and so the Athenian orkmen could perform Pyramus and Thisby at the edding ceremony.Ideas, opinions and commentsI think Shakespeare has put a symbolism into that play. The movement of the scenes could mean that the actors leave the real orld for a short time, and enter a dreamorld, to solve their problems there and come back, hen all problems are solved.I atched the play in Viennas English Theatre, so I really enjoyed reading the book because I already kne hat ould happen a moment later. It as also a great help for me to kno the global connections, for reading ithout having seen the play on stage, it ould have been more difficult to understand it. I really recommend everyone to atch the play first and read it afterards. This makes Shakespeare more attractive for adolescents. ... Download | |||
